Ep 6: Mother’s Request
Biscuit ran through the streets, flippers flailing, chased by three angry aliens.
“Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap!”
Present Day – Office
Intern 27 stared, pale-faced. “You… you shot him.”
Biscuit looked down at his desk. “Yeah… that one’s on me.”
He nodded respectfully. “You will be missed, Intern 3.”
The door creaked open.
In stepped an older woman in high heels and armor-plated sleeves, holding a clipboard like a dagger.
“Biscuit,” she said.
Biscuit straightened up in his chair. “Mother.”
Intern 27 blinked. “Wait—what?”
Biscuit grinned and gestured toward the new intern. “Where are my manners? This is Intern 27. You’ll be seeing a lot more of him.”
Intern 27 opened his mouth. “I have a—”
"—and this conniving—” Biscuit stopped, cleared his throat. —I mean lovely woman, is Mother. She gives me jobs sometimes. Important stuff.”
Mother stepped forward, her eyes sharp. “Hmmm… you kind of remind me of Intern 4.”
“Intern 4?” Intern 27 raised an eyebrow.
Biscuit jumped from his seat. “That’s right! Intern 4! You do remind me of him!”
He clutched at his chest, pretending to hold back tears. “He was the one that lived the longest.”
"…Wait. Lived the longest?”
Mother’s expression darkened. “What about Intern—”
Biscuit held up a flipper quickly. “We don’t talk about her.”
Intern 27 glanced between them, eyes narrowed.
Biscuit sighed wistfully. “I remember it like it was yesterday…”
Flashback – 4 Years Ago – Ocean Casino, Planet Miranova
The automatic doors of the Ocean Casino slid open. Cowboy Penguin walked in wearing a tuxedo two sizes too big, hair slicked back with way too much gel.
He strolled up to the counter with dramatic flair and ordered a drink.
A stunning woman approached from the slot machines. “Buy me a drink?”
He turned around slowly and flashed a half-smile. “On the rocks.”
She smirked. “Name?”
He took a sip.
“Penguin. Cowboy Penguin.”
Until next time…
